Itinerary

The great migration is the largest herd movement of animals on the planet. The circuit takes the animals from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the south of the Serengeti, up through the Serengeti and across into the Masai Mara in Kenya and back again. The journey is beset with danger: young calves are snatched by predators, the slow are brought down by prides of lion, and crocodiles take their share of the stragglers.

Arrival in Tanzania

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), meet our representatives, and transfer to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha. The rest of the day is yours to rest and prepare for the adventure.

Day 1: Tarangire National Park

Depart for Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Enjoy a full day game drive before heading to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Serengeti National Park (North)

Drive to the Northern Serengeti (Kogatende area). This region is famed for the annual migration from July-October. Witness the survival of the fittest as animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters.

Day 3 & 4: Full Days in Northern Serengeti

Spend two full days exploring the Kogatende and Mara River areas. River crossings are likely as herds move back and forth following the rains. This stunning region is rich with resident wildlife even outside of the crossings.

Day 5 & 6: Central Serengeti (Seronera)

Drive to the central Seronera Valley, the heart of the Serengeti. This area offers amazing year-round game viewing, with great herds of buffalo, elephants, and thousands of antelope, plus the predators that hunt them.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater & Departure

Enjoy an early morning game drive into the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wildlife haven. After a final game drive and picnic lunch, we will make our way back to Arusha/Moshi for your departure.
